Christina and Tyler’s wedding was one we will never forget! Their day was filled with so much love and raw emotion, it was simply a dream.
The beautiful venue Obsidian Ridge is a secluded little wedding haven not far from Edmonton. This was our first time shooting here, and it has quickly become one of our favourites! The owners have taken great care to curate a venue with stunning decor, beautiful lighting and unique locations. It is fabulous for photographers and videographers, especially at golden hour.
Our day began with the groomsmen in the Groom’s Den, a fun space for the gents to get ready. It didn’t take long to realize we were going to have a lively wedding party and this is where the excitement for the day really kicks in!
After spending some time capturing the groom and his groomsmen, we headed over to the exquisitely decorated Bridal Suite. This space is on the small side, but it is so unique and charming, I really enjoyed getting creative in there.
Tyler had written a letter to all the bridesmaids as well as to his bride – a sweet touch we haven’t seen before. Needless to say, the tears were rolling!
Once Christina was dressed and ready, she did a reveal with her dad – super emotional! – and then with Tyler, before the ceremony. This is such an intimate and raw moment in the day, we highly recommend taking the time for a first look for couples who don’t necessarily need to wait to see each other for the first time at the aisle.
As the day unfolded, we were overwhelmed with how much love was in the air. You could truly feel how much the guests cared about the couple, how much they were rooting for them and how invested they were in their marriage. It was a beautiful thing to witness, to capture and to preserve through our films.
